Kristen Stewart`s pet wolves are like kids
Kristen Stewart keeps wolves as pets, and says they are just like children.
The actress is famed for her portrayal of Bella Swan in the Twilight movie franchise. Bella is torn between two men - vampire Edward Cullen, played by Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner`s werewolf Jacob Black.
During an appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman to promote new movie Eclipse, Kristen opened up about her unusual pets after David revealed a series photographs of her with them.
"This is my pet, this is Jack. He`s our oldest male. I know he looks kind of scary, he`s a wolf. He`s really sweet, he, like, falls at my feet," she said.
"They told us he was a wolf. I don`t know what kind of wolf he is. They are wolf dogs, they are hybrids. It`s my mom`s deal. Maybe it was a bit of empty nest syndrome, she wanted more children - because they really are hard to take care of. She likes them. Wolf-hybrids are legal."
Among the images David showed the audience was one of Kristen cuddling a wolf-dog hybrid, and another of one of the animals standing beside some bloody bones. The talk show host seemed unconvinced they would make good pets, telling Kristen packs of wolves are the reason why so many elks are being killed in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming.
The argument left Kristen incensed. "And you know what, it`s such an awful thing because all of the hunters have much more of a privilege to shoot them because that`s the only reason we`re killing the wolves, and it`s awful!" she fumed.
Taylor has also been promoting the new film, which is the third in the series. He says it is his favourite yet, although he was upset he didn?t get to shoot more action scenes.
"I was very jealous of my wolf," Taylor confessed. "I love the action - that`s the fun part, and my wolf has all the action in this movie."
He added he is still getting used to fame, as when he`s at home nothing has changed. The 18-year-old is still expected to help with chores, so he feels like he has "two lives".
